  • Year built, 1978

  • Hamner’s first out of the ground development project. 

  • Started as a design/build for mechanical/electrical/plumbing contractor companies

  • 4,900 sf

  • Leased to Howmet Corporation today, and still owned by Hamner entity. 

703 & 704 City Center Blvd.   Newport News

  • Year 1980

  • Hamner Development Company (HDC) assembled an investment group, of which William W. Hamner was a part. 

  • Design/Build Joint Venture with Dynamic Engineering, Inc for aeronautics engineering & manufacturing of pre-production aircraft testing models

  • Original facility constructed at 34,000sf and expanded several times to 94,000sf

  • Leased to Dynamic engineering and it’s successors until sold to the last successor company, Calspan, in 2015

  • Year 1983

  • Hamner Development Company (HDC) assembled an investment group, of which William W. Hamner was a part. 

  • Design/Build for Flower’s Baking Company of Norfolk for their Peninsula bread distribution center

  • 9,684 sf

  • Still under Lease with the same Hamner assembled investment group

739 Thimble Shoals Blvd.   Newport News

  • Years 1980-1987

  • Hamner Development Company answers the call to the shift of the Peninsula central business districts to the Oyster Point area.   Assembles a group of partners who will become tenants in the project

  • Ultimately created 8 separate single story office buildings over the master plan in a park called EXECUTIVE CENTER, consisting of 97,055 square feet, plus one hotel, meeting center, and restaurant consisting of 40,725 square feet (now a senior living with different ownership and a new address of 741 Thimble Shoals Blvd. 

  • As part of the 97,055 square foot, 18,000sf were built as the first Oyster Point office condominiums

814 Childs Ave.   Hampton

  • Purchased in 1985

  • Hamner purchases and redevelops large moving and storage facility for multi-tenant use.  Hamner expands the property adding 23,400 sf in the 1990’s

  • Perfect for dead storage, building consists of multiple bays ranging from 8,400 square feet to 19,200 square feet. Each bay is served by multiple “Semi truck” pull in grade level doors.   Building has been constructed of masonry thus allowing it to be certified by the US military for storage uses. 

  • Building consists of 151,000 square feet of bays with 30 clear ceilings

600 Thimble Shoals Blvd.   Newport News

  • Built 1986

  • Hamner Development Company forges a path by developing Oyster Point’s first elegant Class-A office building, which is anchored by CENTRAL FIDELITY BANK as well as major local law offices and financial services which previously had been based near City Hall in downtown. Building is constructed at the gateway of Oyster Point, welcoming visitors to the park who drive through the primary entrance on Jefferson Avenue

  • Building was built at 45,344 square feet over three floors, constructed on an elevated plaza

11838 Rock Landing Drive

  • Built 1986

  • Hamner Development Company set out to develop the first Class-A Office Campus within Oyster Point Park, fronting I-64 and Rock Landing Drive

  • The campus, called ROCK LANDING CORPORATE CENTER, was started with Rock Landing Corporate Center II, which consists of 35,686sf over two stories.  Over time the master plan of Rock Landing Corporate Cetner shifted to include several high-quality single story buildings, including two buildings built in a condominium regime.

  • Built 1986

  • Hamner Development Company builds the first flex-tech building in Oyster Point Park

  • Called TECHNOLOGY CENTER, this 81,426 Square foot facility provides small to medium sized businesses needing a professional office, but also requiring a shop/warehousing component.

  • Built 1987

  • Hamner Development Company launched it’s first of many joint ventures with medical professionals. 

  • Called OYSTER POINT MEDICAL CENTER, this attractive single-story facility was the first medical office building in Oyster Point, in which William W. Hamner (Sr.) partnered with all the tenant/physicians in the ownership and subsequent development of this attractive 32,000 square foot facility.  The building provided quality, convenient access to medical specialties of all types for patients and healthcare providers alike.

  • Built 1990

  • First of two high-end single story office buildings, for lease, in Rock Landing Corporate Center. 

  • Called ROCK LANDING CORPORATE CENTER V, the building served companies looking for the amenities of Class- A office space, but with a need for single story, store front direct entry into suites. 

  • Building is 18,125 Square feet

  • Built 1991

  • Built as a companion to the CENTRAL FIDELITY BANK BUILDING, this building stands as one of the flagships of Oyster Point park, with its 30,000 square feet built over three stories.  Originally built as the headquarters for SIGNET BANK, it also housed prestigious law firms and financial services firms.

  • Built as the First Phase of the Deer Run Commerce Center in a joint venture with the Luck Stone Corporation.  Building is 39,600 square feet and provides 22 ft clear ceilings plus both grade level and dock high storage.

  • Built 1999

  • Built as the Third Phase of the Deer Run Commerce Center in a joint venture with the Luck Stone Corporation.  Building is 50,400 square feet and provides 22 ft clear ceilings plus both grade level and dock high storage.

  • Built in 1993 for the Newport News IDA

  • Purchased by Hamner entity in 1999

  • Built as a single tenant manufacturing center.    Building is 60,000 square feet and provides 24 ft clear ceilings

  • Building sold to Tenant in 2007

  • Built on what was originally planned to be a part of the Rock Landing Professional Park as the twin building to Rock Landing Corporate Center II

  • Originally Built in 1995 by another developer, and then purchased and improved by Hamner entity in 2005

  • Built Middle Ground Medical Center, and later rebranded the City Center Medical Pavilion

  • Home to some of the top medical providers on the Virginia Peninsula

  • Four Large Buildings with covered drive up consisting of 64107 square feet

  • First Hamner medical project fully spear-headed by William W. Hamner, Jr.

  • Developed as a joint venture with Drs. Michael J Jacobson and John Howard of Hampton Roads Otolaryngology Associates

  • Third branch developed by Hamner for Hampton Roads Otolaryngology Associates (HROA)

  • Three Story class-a office building with HROA occupying 52% of the space, and other premier practices occupying the remainder of the building’s space, totaling 19,678 square feet

12650 Patrick Henry Dr.   Newport News

  • 35,000 square foot Industrial Building originally built in 2001 by GU Hardware (Germany) as their American manufacturing and distribution center

  • Purchased by Hamner Entity in 2017

  • Rebranded and utilized as a fully conditioned high bay light manufacturing facility with both dock high and grade level loading

309 McLaws Blvd.   Williamsburg

  • 34,966 square foot Flex Tech building originally built in 1985

  • Purchased by Hamner Entity in 2021 when major over halls were completed to the building and site

  • Flex tech bays come in both grade level and dock high rear loading.  Front of bays are elegant office suites.

  • Originally built in 2006 as a headquarters building for a major regional residential real estate company and a financial center for a regional bank

  • Purchased by Hamner Entity in 2022, completely gutted and redeveloped into a class-a medical facility

  • Joint Venture between William W. Hamner, Jr and Dr. Che’ M. Torry of Invictus Healthcare, which is an anchor tenant in the building. 

  • The remainder of the building was custom designed for other healthcare providers.
